Wow! Our guest room is holiday-ready! So excited to share this with you! Thank you Calico, for making this room possible! Calico worked with me in stages to help slowly transform our guest bedroom into the beauty it is today!
Before we dive in, let me remind you of the phases of this room.
The Beginning
An old sleigh bed, bland wall color and no personality!
Step 1: New Headboard
This headboard is covered in Crypton fabric so you can bleach clean it! No joke! It’s a performance indoor-outdoor fabric! Plus, a fresh coat of paint and a few Homegoods accessories.
Fabric: Silex, color Snow, Gray Trim and Pewter nail heads. Headboard is tufted.
Step 2: New Wallpaper!
I love the soothing colors of the SOLAN Fabricut wallpaper from Calico. I used to be afraid of pattern, but you’d be surprised how neutral a pattern can read! And this wallpaper from Calico gives you so many colors to pull from for the rest of the room!
Step 3: Custom Bed Skirt
A custom bed skirt was made out of the same Crypton fabric as the headboard with the addition of a gorgeous trim, to add a little something unique. Calico measured to be sure it fit beautifully! I love the pleating!
Step 4: New Bedding & Furniture
Change to all white bedding. There’s something about white bedding that shouts luxury hotel to me. It’s just a beautiful look for guests!
Step 5: Drapery (my favorite part!)
Custom drapery is the latest addition! Calico does drapery beautifully. They did the drapes in my husband’s office, as well. I brought in my designer, Jessica Bradley, to help me since she has helped me with my remodel and knew my house well. She was a good soundboard to help with fabric choices, but Calico designers can easily help you, too!
The drapery was done in Veneer (DL)/Silver fabric. We chose to match the trim with the bed skirt which gives it a very custom look. The drapery is hung on a zip rod so it glides open and closed with a wand with ease.
There’s something so practical but luxurious about drapery. People think they block window views, but they actually draw your eyes to them, and provide privacy.
