Do you have bunions? Hey, hey! Let’s party together! But don’t step on my feet or I’ll start crying from pain! Finding running shoes that fit my oh-so-lovely bunions has been a lifelong annoying adventure. I’m sharing 5 women’s gym shoes for people with bunions – I hope this helps you find a pair to make your feet dance!
Let’s start off with the basics about my footses, so you can see if my footses preferences, work with your little toeses.
- My size: 7.5 – 8
- Bunions: Abso-freaking-lutely. Thanks Pointe shoes in 6th grade!
- Width: wide, but I wear standard size.
- Plantar Fasciitis prone: Lord help me, it’s awful. I am forever stretching my calves.
- Arch: high. I had a mad point while wearing said Pointe shoes!
- Preferred method of working out: running, rowing and Orange Theory.
Over the years I’ve finally gathered some footwear that doesn’t kill my feet. Here are my personal favorites when it comes to gym shoes!
Lightweight and Comfortable
New Balance Sneakers
Easy to Wear
New Balance sneakers generally have a wider toe box which is really easy to wear for people with bunions. This pair of sneakers is lightweight and easy to wear and they come in a lot of colorful looks!
Perfect Basic
Black and White Adidas
Wear with everything
These are the tried and true classics you’ll live in. The black and white is so versatile to wear with clothes and to the gym. The soft foam gives you some cushion while the wide toe box gives you plenty of room for bunion discomfort!
Colorful Sneakers
New Balance Sneakers
For a flirty pop of color
These pink sneakers are more versatile than they look! Add with black leggings for a flirty pop of color or with white denim for a summer look. These are worn more often than you think! This is an updated pink to the ones I’m shown – but just as cute!
Flat Tennis Shoes
ON Running Shoes
Teal Color
This ON Running Shoe is flat and, by design, does not have a lot of support. Having said that, a lot of runners really believe in running with no support on purpose because it builds arch support. As someone who grew up in Florida, I spent a lot of time barefoot and actually subscribe to this theory. If you do, too, then these are the shoes for you!
