I was sent some AmorePacific product to try and review. This is a very expensive luxury line of Korean skincare. Because of the expense of a few of the products and the intrigue into Korean skincare, I felt this product line deserved a deep dive post into its best selling products.
AmorePacific reviews are overwhelmingly good across the board. My review will be a mixed bag of products I adore, some I think are good, and others I don’t think are worth the hype at all.
Background on the AmorePacific Brand
The AmorePacific brand was founded by Sung-Hwan Suh who wanted to share the Korean tea culture with the world. Sung-Hwan Suh discovered an island, Jeju Island, that had volcanic rock and was surrounded by mountains and oceans.
This volcanic rock is 10 times richer in minerals than normal soil, which allowed for green tea to grow thrive. He felt positive that green tea could benefit the body more than just by drinking it so he studied it a a beauty ingredient, and pioneered using green tea for skincare.
AmorePacific is the first brand to scientifically study how green tea can positively impact the skin, and the only brand who cultivates it’ own green tea ingredients.
The brand launched in 2003 in Korea and in the United States. It’s now available in 5 countries.
Why Green Tea in Skincare?
There are two ingredients that come from green tea that have strong beauty enhancing properties: antioxidant rich catechins (EGCC) and moisture enhancing amino acids.
EGCG is a type of catechin (or antioxidant) found in Green Tea that works to improve the look of skin clarity, texture, and elasticity. EGCC is a very nutrient rich antioxidant that works to preserve skin’s glowing youthful appearance.
AmorePacific grows their own Green Tea and has spent decades studying every inch of the plant from seed to root to leaf to flower to harness its power in their products.
My favorite thing about the AmorePacific product line
I have a love for Amorepacfic products mostly because of the smell. Oh, how I love it! It smells incredibly decent and rich.
When I put it on I feel like I should be in a silk bathrobe, with my hair in a clean white hotel towel, looking out over the sun rising with a view of the ocean.
It just smells special. I’ve tried and smelled so many products over the years, and the AmorePacific line sets the bar high on what luxury should smell like.
I’m reviewing six products I was sent to try. Some reviews are excellent, and well, some aren’t so good. Let’s dive in….

Treatment Enzyme Cleansing Foam
OK! I’m about to say it! I hate it! I do not like this Korean facial cleanser!
Bold enough for you?
The Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Cleansing Foam leaves you smelling like a million dollars! This is what I would imagine the celebrities of celebrities would put on in their 4,000 square foot bathrooms, while wearing head to toe silk and diamond tiaras. To me it is so decadent!
Why I Don’t Like this Korean facial cleanser: The Treatment Enzyme Wash lathers and foams. It’s very gentle and light feeling on your skin. However, there’s something in the formula that, for me, is both a little too much and yet not enough.
I tend to prefer products that are a little more simple and straight forward. This formula a little too thick for my taste in the foaming action. Yet, it also doesn’t feel light enough to move around my skin to cleanse it.
Verdict: I really don’t want to waste the bottle I have so I’m powering through it. It’s definitely not my go to and not one that I would recommend people spend the money on.
So, there you have it. Skip this one. Ha!

Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder
The AmorePacific Treatment Powder is similar to the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. The bottle says it is a botanical enzyme to softly cleanse away dead skin cells and impurities to make your skin look bright and healthy.
It’s meant to be a light exfoliant powder product.
While I love how the AmorePacific product line smells, this is the only exception where I don’t like the scent. It smells exactly the same as their other products but for some reason using that same scent with the rice powder makes me almost cough, choke or sneeze when I’m putting it up to my skin.
I also find the texture to be overly foaming and makes this giant lather mess. The rice is almost too fine to feel like its actually doing something productive on my skin.
I would consider it to be a light exfoliator. I just find that my skin gets a little red when I use it so I have only used it maybe 15-20 times and can’t seem to get my love for it.
Verdict: I absolutely prefer the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.
The treatment enzyme is a giant miss for me.

Moisture Plumping Nectar Cream
The AmorePacific Plumping Nectar Cream is similar to the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. So, if you are looking for something similar at a slightly lower price, check out Elemis.
The jar packaging is a little awkward because you take the top off in a weird way. It’s clunky and heavy.
But it’s also a beautiful jar. The color! The silver accents! Elegant. This is a gorgeous way to display your makeup on the counter. It’s complete eye candy.
Sometimes skincare is just the experience, it’s not necessarily making this 43 year old look 25 but I love to indulge in the smells, textures, routine and the visual art of packaging. If you are a packaging lover then you will love this product.
The formula is very light, very soft; I like to use it in the day time because of its lightness and how well it goes on under makeup and on top of serums. At night I prefer to use a heavier moisturizer.
Verdict: Overall I really like the AmorePacific Moisture Plumping Nectar Cream.

Love it, love it, love it!
AmorePacific
This is my favorite AmorePacific product, I’m madly in love with it!
The Time Response Skin Reserve is a true luxury buy. It’s horrendously expensive but it feels horrendously expensive.
I have not had the time to try the La Mer cream but this is what I would imagine it is like.
It is thick, it is heavy, it is oh so decadent, and it is powerful. It’s a beautiful moisturizer and I am trying not to use up my whole bottle because I will be so sad when it runs out because I will have to go and buy more 🤣.
It has that AmorePacific smell. It smells like you spent a lot of money on it. It smells rich it, smells luxurious, it smells like a celebrities house.
I almost want to put my hair perfectly lovely bun and pour a glass of champagne when I put it on! It has that kind of feel to it.
It’s a super heavy moisturizer. I use it 1-2 times a week just to really soak my skin and give it a really strong drink of moisture. I put it on when I have a few minutes to really soak in the experience of it but I feel like I’m really babying and giving my skin so much love when I put it on.
Verdict: Worth the buy, worth the money. Absolutely a splurge but of all the AmorePacific products, the Timeless Response Skin Reserve is the standout!

Time Response Eye Reserve Cream
Holy cow is this eye cream moisturizing! My under eyes felt so hydrated.
It’s too heavy for under makeup during the day so I would recommend using the Time Response Eye Reserve Cream at night for an intense treatment to your under eyes.
Verdict: A little goes a long way so feel free to use sparingly because my only complaint about it is it’s really expensive. But I loved it!
