As a 45 year old, my skin has changed drastically over the years. It’s changed rapidly most specifically in the past five years. It’s become incredibly sensitive. I have chronic hives and even angioedema.
Given this, I have to be super careful with skincare. With companies getting all sorts of review from beauty bloggers, most of whom are paid, I thought it would help to review top rated products that I think don’t make the cut!
So lets dive into the much hyped beauty products that I don’t think you should waste your money on!
Ya’ll, the Charlotte Tilbury Magic cream gets amazing reviews and I have ZERO idea why. I decided to believe the hype and picked up the small sized bottles to give it a go. Within minutes I was breaking out in a full blown skin rash!!! We’re talking full hives, beginning to swell, burning red skin!
I think it’s the fragrance in the moisturizer. I use vitamin C nearly every day. Some people say vitamin C hurts their skin so I don’t think it’s the vitamin C messing me up. I think it’s the fragrance.
When I returned it to Sephora they said that so many people come in returning it complaining of an allergic reaction. So please don’t believe the hype, if you have sensitive skin this ain’t ‘yo thing!

My Ilia Skin Tint review is based on using this product for years and bought 2 bottles. I liked the first bottle enough to buy a second, however perhaps my skin is getting more sensitive over the years. I am finding this a non-starter for my skin. It sits on your skin and doesn’t blend in seamlessly. The formula is thick, gooey and feels extremely heavy. If you live somewhere with a lot of humidity, I don’t recommend this product. If you like the feeling of no makeup this is not your product either!
I get that it has hyaluronic acid in it and that it’s a tint and supposed to be easy but the applicator is a mess. I just can’t get behind this enough to recommend it anymore!

This is another lipstick that people absolutely rave about. I have it. Do I use it? Sure. Do I love it? Absolutely not! I find the formula incredibly drying and you have cracked lips not too long after applying it. I also find the shade to be a tiny bit too neutral for my lip color. It almost makes my lips look faded and pale.
I did a video on a great dupe for this lipstick that I think is an even better color and really similar. I’d really recommend grabbing that Revlon version over this.

This Dyson Air Wrap review is not to be confused with the Dyson Supersonic Blow Dryer which I absolutely recommend getting, I’ve had the Air Wrap for years and just can’t it!
The curl does not hold at all on my hair and the round brush sucks. It gets tangled up in your hair really easily. I think the round brush would work for short thin hair but if you have thick or long hair this is not going to cut it.
There’s a paddle brush which is the only thing I use the Dyson Air Wrap for. For the price I recommend getting the Revlon blow dryer instead. I love the Supersonic but the Air Wrap is a strong pass for me.

Wow did I hate this. After hearing the hype of La Mer Moisturizing cream for years, I finally decided to bite the bullet and bought the smallest size. My skin has been aging and maturing and I felt ready to splurge on luxury skin cream to try. The smell is awful, it spreads poorly, wasn’t nearly as hydrating as I had heart and the product waste in order to use is shocking. Someone explain to me why this is worth the money!
