I’ve led a privileged life. I am fully aware of that and grateful for my blessings. My husband and I are trying to teach our children to be aware of our gifts and install a want to give back. My parents raised me with this awareness. Hopefully these lessons follow them in life. I’ll never forget my daughter doing a lemonade stand to raise money for our local children’s hospital. She even delivered the money herself in person! My husband and I were beaming with pride!
The Dress for Success non profit organization empowers woman to stand on their own two feet. For the third year in a row Talbots and O, The Oprah magazine have worked together to design an exclusive and limited edition collection of clothes. 30% of net proceeds go to Dress for Success. I love this cause! My Mom used to have me do an ornament exchange party when I was young. I asked each guest, in addition to the ornament, to bring a cosmetic item of some kind to benefit a local teenage help center. She would build the basket of fun goodies for these girls to play with, use and have a moment of girl fun in the middle of their struggles. Thank you, Mom, for teaching me that. As I write this post I’m reminded of it and may have my daughter do the same this year. Women supporting women.
The Talbots Dress for Success clothing pieces are adorable. They feature ladybugs! Apparently ladybugs symbolize love, luck and posterity. Who knew? These little guys smell horrible when smooshed. God forgive me for occasionally harming little animals that are about to ruin my furniture!. Apparently I should let them roam freely! The pieces also feature red and dots (which is similar to last year. I featured their collection here!)
I chose the Talbots popover and Talbots scarf from the collection. I paired it with these white crop pants (I love these and will wear them all summer!) and these blue moccasins I’m sort of kind of madly in love with. I wear them all the time now. I cannot get enough of these shoes and love all of the colors options!!! The popover has the cutest red piping on the bell sleeve. Ack! This is the easiest shirt to thrown on when heading to your children’s school, running errands or looking for an easy, pulled together look. I need easy in my life. Ain’t nobody got time for diva fashion in my world!

To help support women, visit any Talbots store nationwide. Donate any clothing and accessories for other women to wear while they enter the workforce and work to provide for themselves. Women supporting women – is there anything better? Pass on your blessings. You can also donate money both in-store or online.
Even better, Talbots will also be matching customers’ monetary donations up to $250,000! Whoop! Give back, guys. I know I will be.

Sizing note: Talbots labels their sizes smaller than everyone else. Whoever thought of this genius idea is my hero. Even though I’m typically a size 6, at Talbots I’m a 2 and shirt size small. Why aren’t other companies doing this?! You feel so much better about yourself. For crying out loud – let’s all stop stressing about the number and feel better about how we look! I have a Sizing Guide post with what I wear at most stores to help you with online ordering!
