Here’s why I online shop in two words: fluorescent lights. I am a dress size 6 and my blog posts share several fashion looks. I thought it would be helpful to share my measurements so that should you wear a womens size 6 clothing or somewhere a little above or below that, you can get a good idea as to what size to order if you like something I share!

Dressing rooms, sales people and all involved make me want to throw up. Truth be told, I am not a shopper. All evidence to the contrary, I hate the process. I’ve been an online shopper for years. I tend to order a few sizes in things and send back what doesn’t fit. Especially for jeans and bathing suits. My worst nightmare is a bathing suit under fluorescent light and some woman I don’t know telling me it looks good. She lies for commission! Ha!

When I order clothes online I always walk in front of my husband and kids and I can tell in three seconds if it’s a winner. My husband will either go “I like that” or “that’s nice” or he will get quiet and my sons chime in with the true story. Way more helpful opinions than a saleswoman. And, if my husband thinks I look nice well, then, that’s all I need. Plus, then he’s on board with the purchase, right?!

Nothing makes me crazier than looking at clothes online and seeing a model wear clothes and not really knowing her measurements. Sure, it says size small, but I doubt that. She probably weighs 104 pounds, is 6’1 and is in a size 0. Size small my patoot.

Since I’m sharing a lot of clothes with you all lately (and will continue to do so – some great every day looks coming soon), I thought it would be helpful if I shared my measurements so you can use that as reference when shopping. That way you can think through what size you would need or if you think that look will look for you.

I didn’t mention my weight, but I will because that’s the kind of friend I am. I’m around 130 pounds give or take some, with a lot of extra skin from having three babies and a c-section. I feel very exposed now…I need to go find some wine. See what I do for you guys? Holy cow I can’t believe I’m sharing this on the internet.
