Instructions
  1. Mix dry ingredients in one bowl. Sift until soft and powdery.
  2. Mix wet ingredients in a glass bowl. Whisk until combined.
  3. Pour half wet mixture into dry and stir well until there are no clumps. Add remaining mixture and continue to whisk. The mix should feel like it’s thickening.
  4. I like to add 2-3 drops of water at this point and re-whisk, but you can see if it’s needed.
  5. hen pack in mix into the mold. Pack firmly at the bottom, but then leave middle soft and powdery and not compacted. Overflow it with powder. Do this on both sides.
  6. When you press molds together all the excess will fall out and the middle soft fluffy mix will compress together from each side making the sides compress together.
  7. Tap on outside of mold to release it. Take off top gently.

Trouble shooting and FAQs

 

My bath bomb keeps crumbling.

Trying adding 2-3 drops water to mixture. You want mixture to feel thicker as you add wet ingredients (but not too wet – I know, confusing.) Make sure it’s compacted right. Sometimes you need to master the technique of smooshing the sides together, more than you need to master the recipe. Also, don’t try and take it out in your hand. I find it easier to remove cap, then roll it out onto the counter before removing the other side.

 

Does it stain your bathtub?

No! Not at all. Tried and tested. Makes bath soft and smells great!

 

If it foams, is that OK?

Foaming means you added the wet ingredients to the dry too quickly. I find a tiny bit of fizz doesn’t do too much damage, but if you make another batch, mix it in slower.

 

How many bath bombs does this recipe make?

It makes two bath bombs. You can absolutely double or triple it – the recipe adjustor helps you tweak it!

 

My mixture isn’t coming out right.

Are you measuring the dry ingredients with dry measuring cups? I made the mistake of using a measuring cup for dry ingredients and it messed up the measurements. Think of it as baking – being exact is important!
