What is Sezane
Alright guys. Never in my life have I worn a brand and received so many compliments. I wish my husband and daughter were here to vouch for this because they laugh at the constant compliments! It’s truly nuts and I can see why – the designs are positively adorable!
Sezane is a brand I’ve clothing, and I’m calling it – it’s about to be the next biggest thing. I’ll dig into why that is in this review post about this Parisian brand including a review of the quality, sizing, shipping and return details, and show you the pieces I’ve most enjoyed buying!
The Sézane Story
But first — let’s wax a little poetry about the brand.
Nestled in the heart of Paris, Sézane is more than just a clothing store; it is a manifestation of timeless French elegance and a tribute to the art of slow fashion. Since its inception in 2013 by Morgane Sézalory, Sézane has been on a mission to redefine the fashion landscape with its commitment to quality, sustainability, and style.
Morgane Sézalory’s journey began with her love for vintage fashion. What started as a small online venture of selling revamped vintage pieces quickly blossomed into a full-fledged fashion brand. Sézalory’s vision was clear: to create beautiful, high-quality garments that women would cherish for years. This ethos is at the core of Sézane’s success and has resonated with fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
What is the Sezane Look
Sézane’s collections are a celebration of classic French style with a modern twist. Each piece is meticulously designed to embody effortless elegance and versatility. They sell everything from chic blouses and tailored pants to romantic dresses and cozy knitwear,
The brand’s attention to detail is evident in every stitch, button, and fabric choice.
I gotta say – the attention to detail is one of the reasons I’m most impressed by this brand. Some of the pieces I’ve seen have wooden buttons, the embroidery is excellent and the look is so elevated and sophisticated, yet so well priced for what it is! Everything down to the packaging has been expertly thought out!
A Sustainable Approach
This isn’t a fast fashion brand – which I enjoy. In an industry often criticized for its environmental impact, this brand stands out for its commitment to sustainability. The brand has taken significant steps to minimize its ecological footprint and promote ethical practices. Sézane uses eco-friendly materials, such as organic cotton and recycled fabrics, and implements responsible production methods.
quality & Pricing
I’ve been extremely pleased and impressed by Sezane’s quality. These are pieces that both look timeless, but I think will hold up. I’ve washed a few items, too, and they’ve laundered really nicely, too.
I think the price point is more than justified. They aren’t outrageous either, and totally in line with other brands and stores, yet I feel like you’re getting a look that others aren’t wearing. My husband actually commented that he thinks people are stopping me because sure, the pieces are cute, but they aren’t on everyone at the moment. There’s a hidden gem aspect to the brand!
The styles are timeless and classic, while also feeling special and like looks you can’t find elsewhere. Pair that with the quality and these are pieces you’ll love.
Note that they do charge import tax for orders over $800, so twice I’ve split up the order in order to avoid this.
Where are Sezane Stores
There aren’t a lot of stores worldwide – and almost none in the US. Here’s a quick rundown of the store locations:
Europe:
Paris – Lyon – Bordeaux – Lille – Aix – Londres – Milan – London – Zurich
United States:
New York – San Francisco – Los Angeles – Washington DC – Austin
For those of you lucky enough to live near one, the Sézane shop looks like more than just a retail experience; it looks like an immersion into the world of French sophistication. The brand’s beautifully designed stores, known as “Apartments,” are a testament to their aesthetic sensibility.
I’ll be honest, not living near a Sezane store location,-bothers me absolutely not at all. I’m an online shopper. I prefer to ease of looking at clothes online and using free shipping so that I can try things in my own home with my own nice lighting! No fluorescence for me, people!
So let’s talk about the online ordering process, because it’s one of the most standout parts of the Sezane experience that has had my jaw dropped!
Shipping & Returns
Guys, listen. I’m an Amazon shopper and I live in Atlanta. So I’m long used to fast shipping. I can often go to bed and remember I needed to buy my kids swim goggles, and order them and they’ll be on my doorstep by 7am the next morning.
So when I tell you I’m impressed by a companies shipping speed, it’s a tall order.
And Sezanne shipping is more than impressive. I’ve ordered from them multiple times and have had things on my doorstep within 48 hours from France. When this first happened, I was convinced they were advertising as shipping my items from France, but secretly shipping from a US city. Wrong. They are shipping from France! And it’s arriving in 48 hours! Holy freaking cow.
They offer two shipping methods: standard FedEx Ground for 5-6 business days, Express FedEx rush for 3-4 business days. Both free for orders over $200.
I’ve had the same impressed reaction to returns. They offer free returns. And when I’ve sent things back the refund has been processed timely.
People. For an online shopper, both of these things are huge and the ease of online shopping has made me an even bigger fan of this Parisian clothing brand.
Sezane Sizing
I’m 5’6 (ok, ok, ok, 5’5 1/2″) and weigh around 135. My sizes are as follows:
- Jeans: 27
- Tops: Medium
- Dresses: 4/6 depending on cut
In Sezanne, I’ve found that I’m a size 6 for shorts, dresses and tops across the board.
Does Sezane have sales?
Yes, Sezane offers sales, however they are somewhat hidden on the website. On the website, they are listed as “Archives.” This is both confusing, yet kind of sweet. Not unlike how we’ve rebranded buying “used” items as “pre-loved” calling a Sale item something from an Archive, implies a back closet approach to finding a good price for an item you’ll treasure and keep.
Monthly Collections
Sezane sells the standard quarterly seasonal collections, but in addition, there are monthly special collection drops. Be aware though — a lot of these sell out quickly. They tease the collections on Instagram, so when there’s something I’ve been eyeing, I set my alarm to wake up so I don’t miss out!
I do love the addition of these monthly pieces in addition to their seasonal and classic items.

Clothing I’ve Tried On
Sezane Black Linen Dress
This black linen summer dress was bought for a recent trip to Napa. I wore it to a Chic French Bistro called Bouchon. A table of three women stopped me to ask me about it, then furiously grabbed their phone to start following Sezane on Instagram!
I love it. My husband loves it. It’s adorable! The sleeve detail is fantastic and the tie back is so special. I’m wearing a size 6. I technically fit into the size 4, but it felt a bit too short and tight around the ribcage.

Embroidered Midi-Dress
This embroidered shirt dress was a purchase from one of their monthly drops. I had been eyeing it for the week leading up to the collection drop date and was madly in love with the blue color and embroidery detail. I also love a good midi-dress, and this shirt dress one with the button down and collar detail felt like one I’d wear constantly. It’s just a great all around dress that I’ll wear to dinners, to school events, to graduation parties and more! It sold out within hours – so I guess I wasn’t the only one who knew how great it would be!
I bought a size 6 which fit perfectly. It has a slip it came with and the embroidery detail is “chef’s kiss ” perfection!
The embroidery of this linen dress is exquisite and feels handmade. I also really liked that there is a slip with the dress – a lot of designers these days don’t include this.
Also, never in my life have I received so many compliments or had so many women ask where I got something. The other day I counted at least ten and my husband said he saw a few other women crank their head and whisper about it!

Sezane Jewelry Review
I decided to give their jewelry line a try and went for these wavy gold hoops. They feel like a modern take on a traditional hoop and I knew I ‘d wear the heck out of them. I live for gold hoops because they go with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses!
The packaging was so pretty and they came in this cute green and white toile fabric pocket. Then the fabric pocket was in a pretty box. This alone makes Sezane jewelry a great gift idea!
The weight is really nice – they aren’t overly heavy, but they don’t feel chintzy. The earrings have a nice heft to them to make them feel substantial. Madly in love!

Sezane Shorts and Embroidered Top Review
This Bianca blouse shirt was love at first online site for me. I gasped at the gorgeous embroidery, collar detail and sleeve length. I knew I had to have it. This, to me, was the perfect way to dress up shorts or denim. I’m now thinking I need it in black, too!
I was worried it wouldn’t wash well, but it laundered perfectly. I used the handwashing’s cycle and flat dried it.
I had read good reviews on their Rome shorts, so gave those a try – and oh my! I adore them! The high waist isn’t too high, and the belt detail is killer. The material is very high quality, and these are the kind of shorts you can really dress up. I also love the ivory on ivory monochromatic look!

Sezane Max Shirt
I’ve had a love affair with striped button down’s lately. I can’t get enough of them, and here’s why you need them – they are a classic twist, yet you can find the most fun, summery colors. This red and ecru color in the Sezane Max button down shirt was so happy and summery, and felt very Parisian.
The sizing here was a miss though – I bought my standard size 6 not realizing how oversized and boxy it was. But by then, it had already sold out and I was so in love with the color I decided to keep it. It’s very on trend to wear oversized button down’s anyway, so I kept it and decided to embrace the boxiness. I wear the heck out of this shirt!

What I Want to Try Next
There are a few things I’ve had my eye on — this woven clutch with the braided handle is to die for. It looks so special and unique with a designer vibe, without carrying the designer price tag. I already have a handbag in a natural color, so I’m waiting for a color to come out to snag it in.
I’ve also had my eye on the Betty cardigan. Lately I’ve been styling knitwear around my shoulders, so adding a pretty color in a cardigan I could wear year round is intriguing me.
We’ll see…honestly, I’m a believer now and really do believe “Paris is always a good idea!”
