Traditional Gold Glam Christmas Tree

For this tree I chose to do a very glam gold look. I wanted over the top gold with this gorgeous thick weaved ribbon going in and out of it.

I thought the gold would look so pretty on a traditional green tree rather than a flocked tree. I know flocked trees are in and I absolutely love flocked trees, check out some of my flocked tree designs, but I really thought a green tree would fit this look.

Green trees are traditional, they are gorgeous and timeless for a reason. The gold on a green tree is just so pretty.

For ornaments, I used this gold collection set from King of Christmas.

I use collection sets pretty often because it makes it so easy to have a cohesive look. What’s great about collection sets is you can still sprinkle in your personal ornaments with them and the collection will keep the tree uniform.

With that you have an already cohesive look mixed with a personal touch that you can love. This makes the tree personal, designed by you with a good flare.

For this tree I used a lamae pleated wire ribbon. If you are looking for a new ribbon this is it, its amazing!

The width is perfect, I love that it’s wired so you can shape it however you want. The color can actually skew silver or gold depending on how you use it so it’s totally versatile.

If you are somebody who wants to change your look every year this is great for you. It has a champagne tint to it but its incredible quality with a beautiful tailored look, I love it!

I made a couple of big bows throughout the tree just to add a little impact then weaved it in and out throughout the tree.

For a secondary ribbon I added in this gold mesh ribbon. I’ve used this ribbon in the past for other trees and I absolutely love it. It’s tried and true, has proven itself to me year after year!

I love it for a few reasons, one is the silver glitter lets you layer on top of another ribbon to add some shine and sparkle when the lights are on. Or you can use it alone for a little bit of added color and effect without going over the top.

Additionally it bends and moves so well you can actually stretch it to be wide or compress it to be in that 3 -inch wide layer.

I added all of these lovely gold picks that I bought from King of Christmas.

I have used gold ball berry picks in the past and everyone has asked about them. The one’s that I’ve bought previously are no longer in stock but theses are a close replacement for them.

These are easy to shape and move, they’re perfect for filling in holes and empty spots. With these I also added some sparkle picks just to add a little spray accent and glitter element. I wanted to counteract some of the other elements going on with a little bit of shine.

Just a heads up, the glitter picks are super messy! They will fall down everywhere.

I’d highly recommend keeping a vacuum close by to clean up all the glitter once you’re done. It’s a lot of cleanup but once its all up it’s absolutely worth it!

For the tree skirt I added in a faux fur brown tree skirt to bring down the glam just a little bit. I wanted something a little more matte to keep the glitter and shine from being too much.

I wanted to use something to compliment the natural green and this ended being a solid choice for that. This is the tree skirt I’ve used a thousand times, I’d highly recommend it. The tree skirt comes in ivory and brown.

For the top I always tend to use tree picks as tree toppers. It’s my personal style and something I continually do year after year.

If you just cram anywhere from 3-9 picks depending on the pick or how big you want your topper you’ll be in good shape. Typically I’ll use odd number to make it.

The gold glam is a beautiful look if you are someone who wants to do something traditional and classic.
